Classical painting Temple wall-painting Contemporary painting
We paint in different styles and techniques. The most interesting ones are easel painting and wall-painting. These are two fundamental directions in Art and the other ones are constituent parts of them. They are so deeply intertwined that it’s rather difficult to introduce them separately nowadays. The techniques of painting are inexhaustible. Anything that leaves a trace on something is actually art: it is created by nature, time and a human being.
A painting can be made on any base: on the stone, plaster, canvas, silk, paper, leather, metal, asphalt, concrete etc.. Painting appears and adjoins plastic art including sculpture and architecture. It can also be an essential part of creating artificial or natural invironment.
Painting alonside with other kinds of art is insubstantial. It is an imitation of tridimensional space on plane. It can be reached by linear and colour perspective. But it takes eyes a split second to perceive its visual and colour aspect which determines the exceptional role of painting among fine arts.
